About Us

My name is John Gregory, Owner/Managing Director of Protect-A-Window & Scratch Zerø, and I created the concept of painting a temporary protective coating onto glass and frames in 1992.
  • As a builder I recognised the difficulties of protecting windows from being damaged
    • Especially by wet trades during the construction process
    • Helping Builders by saving thousands of dollars on replacement costs.

  • As operating a successful Builders Cleaning Business in Brisbane
    • Noticing the mortar, render and paint left behind and scratched valuable surfaces from trade people

  • At the same time having a Hand Over Business
    • Almost every house that was inspected had some scratching to one or more surfaces

For the next 5 years I used my own product called PAW 40.

Finally I commissioned an industrial chemist and together we developed an environmentally friendly product that leads the world in protection which our competitors have copied.

  • Would last up to two years on site at the correct thickness of 100um
  • Protects both frames and all glass surfaces
  • Be peeled off at the end of the project leaving windows scratch free
  • PLUS reducing the time and cost of cleaning. A WIN WIN SITUATION.
  • Will not bake on
  • Will not fall off
  • Leaves no residue
  • Environmentally friendly and the winner of the GreenSmart award in 2002
  • Wholly Australian Owned and Manufactured

Protect-A-Window will always be recognised as being the first

Protect-A-Window and its products have successfully expanded to many locations in Australia, New Zealand, USA and other parts of the world.

Protect-A-Window is unbeatable when you combine its history, track record and success, with its pricing, service and guarantees.

Other companies from time to time attempt to copy Protect-A-Windows’ products, system of application, marketing and service model, which in itself is a compliment to John Gregory' s vision and perseverance over many years.

Protect-A-Window has simply created an industry in which it can supply its products to.
